Grief and Sorrow

Pink roses with green leaves against a stormy, cloudy sky, evoke a somber and delicate mood.

The events of the last few weeks have been intense and difficult to process. In America, and many other countries, we are seeing very troubling things happen both among the citizens and the government, as if we are barreling towards something horrendous. Setting aside political differences, I think we can all agree that things are ugly and unsettling out there. So, what is the answer?

God. God is the answer.

There is no herb or essential oil that can truly heal what is going on, but God can. Truly, the end is fast approaching, and we all need to repent from our sins, turn to God, and believe in the good news: that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

This does not mean everything in this life will be easy, but it does mean that you will have eternal life with Him, and the peace of knowing He has already won the victory over sin and death.

In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. -John 16:33

But what about right now? What about the feelings you are struggling with right now?

Prayer.

Take it to God in prayer; give it all to Him and leave it at His feet.

Herbs and essential oils cannot heal the soul; only Christ can do that, but they can help ease the physical toll that grief takes on the body. Grief often brings tension, fatigue, digestive upset, restlessness, or sleepless nights. When used wisely, herbs and oils can bring a sense of comfort, giving us the ability to focus on what is truly important.

Final Thoughts

Herbs and essential oils are simply tools; while these natural remedies can provide comfort for our physical symptoms, let's never forget that true peace comes from the Lord. Take everything to Him in prayer; He sees every tear, knows every sorrow, and is with the brokenhearted.

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. -Psalm 55:22
