Homemade room sprays

Room sprays are a simple and effective way to bring the power of aromatherapy into your home. Whether you're looking to freshen linens, set a relaxing mood, or energize your workspace, a well-crafted essential oil spray can transform any environment. Synthetic fragrance sprays often contain irritating chemicals that can trigger headaches and respiratory irritation. For the best experience, stick to natural essential oils that uplift and support your well-being.

Basic DIY Room Spray Recipe:

Here’s a simple, effective formula for a 2 oz spray bottle:

  • 25% ethanol (150 proof [75%] alcohol or higher)

  • 73% distilled water

  • 2% essential oil

For a 2 oz spray bottle, this translates to:

  • 15ml ethanol

  • 43ml distilled water

  • 24 drops of essential oil(s)

Quick Tip: Alcohol helps disperse the oils and acts as a preservative, preventing microbial growth. If you prefer a more flexible method, simply fill about a third of the bottle with alcohol, then essential oils, and finally add distilled water up to the shoulder. Shake well before each use to keep the blend evenly mixed.

Room Sprays for Mood & Well-Being

Beyond their delightful scents, room sprays can support your emotional and respiratory wellness. I love using them to boost focus, spark creativity, or unwind after a long day. For instance, during the winter months, when motivation dips, I rely on a custom blend to refresh my space and mind. Need help choosing the right scents for your needs? I am happy to guide you—just let me know what emotional boost you are seeking!
